Each morning, we meticulously prepare our coffee to ensure it consistently meets our high standards of excellence — a dedication that saw us crowned Tasmania’s Best Coffee – People’s Choice Award 2025.

We’re also well known for our freshly baked cakes, made in-house daily. From zesty lemon and indulgent banoffee to matcha, Biscoff and more, our cake cabinet is ever-changing and always full of flavour. We’re proud to be a vegetarian and gluten-free friendly café, with something delicious for everyone.

Bruces began its journey as a quaint milk bar in the 1960s and transitioned into a charming cafe in the 2000s. Today, it proudly operates under the ownership of friends Themis Katsikis and Simeon Cooper, who both have deep roots growing up along the beautiful North-West coast of Tasmania.

Themis is a highly skilled chef with extensive experience in the hospitality industry across both Tasmania and Victoria, and he is dedicated to sourcing and using only the finest local ingredients in all our offerings. We brew our rich, flavourful coffee using Toby Estate Beans, an acclaimed roaster from Melbourne.
